Administrative History
- 1950–1960 Period: With the formation of the Panchayati Raj system in Kerala, the Munderi region was incorporated into the local governance framework.
- Post-1994: Following the implementation of the Kerala Panchayat Raj Act (1994), the Munderi Grama Panchayat acquired enhanced powers and responsibilities for self-governance.
- Administrative Responsibilities: The Panchayat's administration encompassed areas such as drinking water supply, road maintenance, health services, sanitation, welfare schemes, agricultural development, and social security pensions.
- District Structure: Munderi Grama Panchayat functions as a local self-government institution within the Kannur district. Representatives are elected on a ward basis, and the administration is led by the Panchayat President and Vice President.
